On Oct 1950, the Chinese Army took over the country, starting at Chamdo.     A year later Dalai Lama through its representatives signed a treaty with Chinese. After years of scattered protest, a full scale revolt broke out in March 1959 and Dalai Lama was forced to flee as the revolt was crushed by Chinese Troops.
